Bubble fun
Amber takes Logan to the Library every week for story telling time and last week the lady at the library blew bubbles for the kids. Logan loved it so Amber got some for him and when the weather was warm enough to go out we played with the bubbles.
Rampage
Does anyone remember that old nintedo game where you are a monster that walks through the city razing buildings and eating innocent bystanders??? I think it was called Rampage... Well yesterday we pulled out the jumbo blocks and built a tower the likes of which have never before been seen. Logan is an interesting mix of Amber and me. Like Amber if he sees clutter, he has to put it into a drawer or better yet, the trash, which means from time to time some toys go missing and some are never found again. Then he has his Spencer genes that hate order and cannot resist pushing over piles of anything and everything. He also enjoys pulling books and DVDs from the shelf which I myself don't enjoy doing but can't ever picture Amber doing so it is either from me or the milkman that looks just like me... Anyways, when Logan came into the room and saw this skyscraper he went king kong on it and tore it to the ground. Very fun to watch.
New Clothes
We took a daring journey through Costco the other day and found some new clothes for Logan. He is really funny with new clothes. As soon as we get them out he puts them all on and prances through the house. I use the word "prance" because there really is no other word to describe what he does.
Fun with Playdoh
Amber cooked up some dough and so we got to work making animals and Logan acted out the sounds as we went. Here is his elephant, motions and all. Just like all new objects that come within his death grip, he tried to put it in his mouth but since the main ingredient is salt, I don't think he'll try that again.

Logan up to his tricks
So everyday we watch Logan systematically select and destroy various targets in our apartment. It is kind of funny actually. Logan has learned how to pull himself up onto chairs which has multiplied his potential targets. Whenever you cut him off he changes course and goes onto his next mess. It is kind of fun to see him work it out in his head. He is definately a climber. He loves to climb up on his rocking chair and stand on the seat while rocking like a surfer. Yesterday he scaled the outside of his crib which means it is only a matter of time before we will be putting him in a big kid bed. He has really been fun the past couple of weeks, he is really starting to interact alot with everyone. He mimics sounds and words and it is funny to see him pick up misc. objects, put them to his ear and say, "ahyo." He also loves to make car noises, he points at airplanes and loves elephants. He can make the sounds of dogs, cats, birds, owls, ducks and of course, elephants (which also includes an irresistable hand motion.) Amber has taught him a little sign language and now she wants me to teach him some korean words. (poor kid)
Here are a few of our latest pics. Here he is pretending he is cliffhanger

weather shift
Here are a couple of pics, the one with the pretty floweres was taken in DC last week, the other was taken yesterday after church.
First Snow In MD
Yesterday we went to church and it was cold and windy in comparison to the very nice weather we had been experiencing. After the first meeting, Logan was really restless so I took him out into the foyer and was surprised to see it snowing outside. This is a big deal since it is now the middle of January and still have not seen anything more than a little frost on the window. We actually have seen more snow in New Mexico. Anyways, they made an announcement about the snow in the meeting and alot of people left early. It took us longer than normal to get home and luckily Logan slept through the drive. We passed cars that had slid off into the median and a few rear end accidents... Now it is Monday morning and class is supposed to start in 10 minutes and I am the only one here. I took a picture last night so I will post it when I get home. I have always said that the only good thing about snow is skiing. There are a couple of resorts a few hours away but nothing compared what I left in Utah. So... I have had to add one more thing to my limited list of good things about snow... HOT CHOCOLATE!!! Nothing like a little Swiss Miss to make the winter seem alright. VIVA SNOWBIRD

D.C.
The weather this year has been really strange. It snowed over a foot in New Mexico last month while here in Maryland, we have had really good weather for the most part. Yesterday was no exception. Ben has never been to the east coast and has always wanted to see the capital. Kim came over in the morning and we all took off for a long day of sightseeing. Here are a few pics from our outing.
We went to the museum of natural history and watched a 3D tree hugger movie on sharks and logan loved the fancy shades he got to wear. During the movie he kept trying to grab the fish as the appeared to swim right up to him.
Sorry, we couldn't resist it was just perfect.
Back to DC, we were originally planning to see the air and space museum but it was closed so the much anticipated voyage to Uranus was plutoed (yes, though no longer a planet it has become a new word with a great meaning)
The Natural History museum really was cool though. Even though the shark movie repeatedly reminded me that I was the sole cause for the end of our eco-system and life on earth as we know it. Afterwards we made it to the war memorials. The WWII plaza is amazing. We had been a few times prior but this time Ben was able to look up his Grandpa's name in the registry, that made the monument seem much more meaningful to all of us.

Alyson and Ben
Today, Alyson and Ben are going to be coming to visit us for the weekend. We are excited to see them because they weren't able to make it out for Thanksgiving with the rest of the family, and we did not go to Salt Lake for Christmas so this is exciting. They have not seen Logan since we left Utah last summer. Since they have seen him, he has learned how to crawl, walk and most recently, do a little sign language. While Amber and he were still in Albuquerque, she taught him with the help of Grandma and Aunt Tiffany. He has learned "more", "drink", and "please". It is so funny to watch him. The only problem is, he wants "more" of everything and sometimes it is hard to fill all of his requests... Anyways, Al and Ben arrive at 2:30 and I am going to pick them up straigt from work and the fun will begin!

someone is someone
sorry Dana, props to you for recognizing my son!!
Tow-Mater
While in Albuquerque with the Asays, someone noticed the striking resemblance between Logan and the tow truck character in Cars. What do you think?
