ADDY-CAKES

Sorry that it took so long to get more pictures of Addy up. Things are going great. It sure has been nice to have Amber's family in town to help out. Addy has so far been a really easy baby. She spends most of her time sleeping, and hardly makes a fuss when she is hungry or needs a diaper change. Logan on the other hand has turned things up a notch , and can hardly contain himself since Grandma , Grandpa and Bri are in town. Here she is the day we brought her home from the hospital (Tuesday)

Here she is taking her first bath. Yup, she slept through that too.

Definitely has curls like her mom.

It is fun to see how small she is in the car seat. It is hard to believe that Logan used to be that little.

Sun bathing at the pool with Grandma Pauleen.
Momma love.
Chubby cheeks.

She's finally here!!!

Sunday night at around 9:30, Amber started having pretty strong contractions. We started timing them. The first two were 10 minutes apart, the next two were 5 minutes apart and then for the hour leading up to leaving for the hospital, they were coming pretty strong every 3 minutes or so. We called up the doctor on call, and she told us she would meet us at the hospital. So we headed out. Our good friend Bernadette came over and spent the night at the house with Logan. Thanks so much for doing that for us!!!
We reached the hospital around 11:00 p.m. We had to enter through the Emergency room and walking from there up to labor and delivery took about 25 minutes. Once we got there, they informed us that about 10 other women had come in before us and that they were looking for a nurse to work with us. It was so frustrating to see Amber in pain and hearing the nurses saying stuff like, "I don't want to take her." or, "Sorry you will have to find someone else..." Finally the sent us to a delivery room to wait while they found a nurse.
Finally our nurse came. She did an exam on Amber and found that she was fully dilated. At that point, the nurses were kind of spazzing out. Amber was Strep B positive so they were busy trying to get the antibiotic going. Amber then asked the nurse, " Is an epidural out of the question?" the nurse said that things were progressing too fast and that as soon as the doctor arrived they were going to deliver Addy.
The staff Dr. came in and did an exam and Amber told him to go ahead and start. He broke her water right as our Dr. came in. That was about 11:45 pm.
15 minutes of pushing later, and enduring the "ring of fire" and little Addysen Bri was safely out and in Amber's arms. She was born May 18 at 11:53 pm. 8lbs 3oz 19.25 inches.
Both mom and baby are doing great and we are excited for Logan to go and see her. Amber's mom is flying in today. My mom is in town and will be stopping by tonight.

"I hope they call me on a mission"

Today being mother's Day, we got to talk to our missionaries. Logan was so happy to say "hi" and to sing to them. It is so crazy how time flies. David is going to be coming home from Brazil this fall. Logan was just starting to stand up when David left. Now he is walking and talking and running... Judd has been in Korea for almost half a year. We miss them and Logan prays for them everyday. It is funny how different each of our brothers are and how different the places were that they were sent, but they are both maturing so much and growing up. Here are some of the most recent pictures that we have received from them. Heaven forbid they send a "normal" picture...
Here is David contemplating eating an ugly bug. He has been serving in the office as a historian/everything needed on a computer, for about 7 months. Even though most of his time has been spent behind a desk, he has been blessed to still get the chance to teach in the evenings and has enjoyed success in finding some great people to teach. He sounds good, has a heavy accent and kept slipping Portuguese words into his sentences.
Here is Judd in his last area which was also my last area, Kimcheon. He has been learning the language and getting used to the food. He has always been really upbeat which is a good attribute to have when you are a missionary in the land of the morning calm. He was just transferred to Cheju island and is loving it there. The teaching is a little bit of a challenge and the people are stubborned but Judd seems to be loving it and really having a great time.

Savage Mill

Yesterday we went to the Savage Mill to walk around and see the old B & O bridge. It was really nice weather, not too hot, and not too cold.
Logan is obsessed with "choo choo trains" and loved running back and forth across the bridge. Apparently this is the last bridge of its kind in the world.
Amber is a trooper. Logan came early and we have been hoping that Addy would do the same. At our last appointment, the doctor hinted that everything was on schedule, but you never know...
I love this kid!!!
Definitely a boy...
Loves his mama...
After crossing the bridge, we walked through the forest along side the Little Patuxent River, the trees all have their leaves, and the pollen is thick in the air. Got to love the spring.
Logan posing in front of the original Savage Mill. (not much left of it)
After exploring in the forest, we headed back to the main mill to walk through the shops. It had a Park City kind of feel to it. There was an art studio with paintings out back to dry, a pottery kiln, and a French bakery (the bread smelled so good)
Best of all was the game store inside, they actually let us open up a game, Kids of Catan, and play it with Logan. The prices were kind of steep but we sure had a blast looking.
What a fun Saturday!

"Look at me still talking when there is science to do..."

So I rented this game for the 360 that is made up of 5 games, one of which is called Portal. It has been a long time since I have played such a fun game. It is all about problem solving. Once I got started I could not stop and ended up playing it start to finish for 4 hours till I beat it.Basically you are a patient/prisoner held captive by a robot given tasks to complete in hopes of receiving a cake at a party. The only problem is, THE CAKE IS A LIE!!! BWAH HA HA HA.
So basically, once you find that out, you decide you have to escape:) Below is the song you get at the end, sung by none other than that robot that was keeping you prisoner... Enjoy. Jake knows what I am talking about...

May Flowers

Last week before we went to the temple we took a few pics out in front of the apartment, the trees were in bloom and made for some good pictures
Logan kept kicking the tree cause it made the blossoms fall down like snow, he thought it was pretty cool.
"Pretty Mommy" holding our baby dinosaur.

This is Amber at 36 weeks...

Baby "Burkey"

Before I get started, I would like to give a quick shout out to Jocelyn Jexy Aurora Cottrell. Congrats on graduating from the University of Utah.

So here she is, Berkeley, or as Logan says, Burkey. She has really grown since the last time we saw her, she was definitely not camera shy. She sure made us excited for Addy to get here. Hopefully it won't be too much longer.

Here is a picture of Logan helping out. I think he is going to do great as a big brother...
