Memories...

Seeing all these pictures of babies makes me miss the days when Logan was so small. Don't get me wrong I love the kid to death, he is so fun. There is just something special about a newborn. You just have to enjoy every minute.

Claire Jane

The decision has been made, Kendra and Rick are naming her CLAIRE JANE. Cute name for a cute baby. This first picture reminds me of when Logan was born. Babies are so special.
It is amazing how small she is, Rick is getting some baby love.

I think that Claire Jane is a perfect name for her. She looks like a Claire. We are glad you are all doing well.

New Friends!!!

Tonight after I got home from work, we went over to the Garner family's house for a BBQ. It made me really miss my grill. (Al and Ben, you better be using it often...:) Zack made some pork hamburgers and we ate them with some BBQ sauce and some cole slaw, it was delicious, served up with some beans. Zack and Emily have two cute litte boys, Hayden and Matthew. The missionaries dropped by after we ate and shared a message, it was a fun night. Elder Christensen has been in the area as long as we have and he will be going home next transfer. His last companion, Elder Duce met the Garners knocking doors and I met them going on splits. We are excited to have made some great new friends out here, it makes it easier to be away from our old friends and family. Amber is so outgoing we always have new people to meet. Last Friday we went to Pizza Hut with Bern and Erik Rogers, they are a lot of fun to hang out with, Logan has a blast playing with all of the kids as well.

New Toy

Today we did a mapquest to the nearest REI because there is a sale going on till Saturday. We went looking for a way to take Logan with us on our bikes. Last year before we moved we tried one of those bike trailers, but he got scared, and it would have been hard to store out here. So we are going to try out this seat thing and hopefully it will be a better experience. "Some assembly required." Yup that meant that it took me an hour and a half longer than it should have to put together. Brought me back to the good old days fixing stuff with my dad...

Lance came to visit!!!

Last night, we got a call from Uncle Lance, he was in town for a meeting and wanted to meet up with us for dinner. Tonight he came over and we wen't to Outback for steaks!!! It was wonderful. It was good to see some family out here. Logan loves his uncle. He was all smiles.

Fun in the Sun

The sun was pouring in the window and Amber was laying on the carpet enjoying the warmth when suddenly, Logan started spazzing out and jumping on her like he was trying to pin her.
Next he tried his special hand stand maneuver to finish her off

His arms started to give and the next thing he knew, he was doing a summersault into the wall.

BONK!!! OUCH

Mom's kisses make everything better...

They hugged and made up, peace fills the house, till next time.

Adventures in baking

So what we have here is a genuine German Pancake. It looks really cool right when you take it out of the oven. It doesn't look as cool when you forget to put in the cup of milk required. We learned that the hard way. (when I say "we" I mean I) Anyways, a half an hour and a half dozen eggs later... We finally had breakfast.
The Corners get a little burnt when they grow but it still is tasty. Too me it kind of tastes like french toast.

Baby Mackintosh

Our good friends in Utah just had their first baby last Saturday! Congratulations Kendra and Rick!!!
She is already becoming daddy's little girl...

What a cute kid. Now the hard part... What to name her???

Another fun day playing outside

In Utah we always used to say that if you did not like the weather, all you have to do is wait 5 minutes and it will change. Here in Maryland, the same has been true. This month our highs have nearly reached 80 degrees and we have also received snow 3 times. I for one am happy that the warm, pleasant days are beginning to out number the cold ones. Last Thursday, the weather was especially nice and we decided to go play in the park by our apartment.
Logan loves to play in the dirt, he just doesn't like to get his hands dirty. here we see him climbing through the tube. He likes to yell in there because it echos back and sounds cool to him.

Logan was once again sporting some clothes from Janet. He is one stylin kid.

Today one of the mothers in the park had a cup full of honeycombs cereal. It was Logan's first time tasting them and he loved them. So like any of us would, he took the whole cup and ran off with them.

woops, he dropped them, but thats okay, a little dirt never hurt anyone... at least not yet...

Here is a cute one of Logan trying to give Andrew a hug. Earlier, Andrew had a bunch of cereal out on his tray and logan came and ate one. Andrew started to panic and licked each of the other pieces so that Logan wouldn't want them. It was funny to watch.

Logan wanted to give the "big boy swing" a try and he got a little frustrated when I wouldn't let him go alone.

The big boy cup

Logan decided that he was old enough to use a "big boy cup" I think it was a little more than he could handle.

After drenching himself....

He curled up and went to sleep on the "big boy chair".

more clothes from Janet

Janet sent us a big box full of clothes that Ben and Nate had grown out of. We sure do appreciate it.
Big smiles from a happy grateful kid. He really loves new clothes!

Jammin before church

Logan gets so excited when I get the guitar out. It is fun to watch him dance around. His favorite thing to do is sit on my lap and help me strum the strings.
Sometimes he is more fun to play than the guitar. He is one tickleish kid.

Hiyo!!!

Mom and Dad Cottrell gave logan this play toy that converts into a walker and it was one of Logan's favorites even after he could walk. He would carry it around the house banging it into things saying "uh oh". One day he hit one too many walls and it cracked in half sending him flying. It sat in the closet for a couple of weeks till we finally went to Home Depot and picked up some bolts to put it back together. It is pretty solid now...

Sometimes when Logan is watching his baby einstein movies I put on my headphones and work on the blog because the music from those movies drives me nuts. I was happy to see Logan run over and ask for me to play him some real tunes. He seems to really like the Beach Boys, the BeeGees and Abba. They all have good beats that he can bob his head to.

One thing leads to another...

What started out with an innocent day playing in the water with Matthew, turned into a streakfest.

Another beautiful day at the park

Pretty Mommy
Amber is really starting to love it out here due to the fact that there are so many beautiful parks for her to take Logan to. The last couple of days, have been amazingly warm and pleasant. Today it started to rain in the morning and then right after I got home from work it started to snow again. Sometimes I feel like the winter will never end. Anyways, here is Logan enjoying a few of his favorite things: banannas, cars and playgrounds.

Personally I think he would look better behind the wheel of a red one... Maybe we can get some better flics in Utah with the help of Grandpa and a certain S2000... or maybe even the GTO...

Fun times.

Yes It Is

I found this today at work and just loved it. I wish I could play like this. Dad could probably pull it off.

A boy and his car

Grandpa surprised Logan with his very own Lightning McQueen Car for Christmas last year and he has been enfactuated with it ever since. We put it on top of our shelves to keep it out of reach and he points at it and makes car noises almost every day.
The weather was good much into this winter so we took it out for a spin and Logan chased it around the parking lot.

Today, the weather was especially nice and so we decided to take it out for a joyride in the tennis courts. Logan had a blast. He still loves to chase it but his favorite thing to do is drive it by himself.

He has a little trouble steering it so he drives it straight until it is out of range then he puts the remote on the ground gets up and runs to the car, picks it up and moves it to where he wants to start it, sets it down, then goes and gets the control. He is so fun to watch!

This is a look of sheer determination.

Hopefully the weather will stay pleasant enough to go out again tomorrow!

a beautiful day in the neighborhood

Every once in a while Logan has this uncontrollable urge to taste/eat misc. things. He does this with such speed that it is hard to stop him before he throws rocks, sticks, ladybugs, sand and anything else that catches his eye into his mouth as he is walking around. This time the victim was a rock.
Logan and his good buddy Matthew posing with a very anthusiastic "cheese."

So many rocks, so little time.

crawling through the tunnel

These are all pictures that Amber took at a new park today. I am excited to go with her and Logan next time. From the looks of it, it is huge and I might just have to chase him around in it...

Logan and Mathew riding the slide together. Logan is growing up so fast, he climbs up all by himself and then slides down and gets off the slide. Before he could walk we used to have to lift him to one another to the top of the slide, it sure got tiresome.
