One more thing off my bucket list

So when I was a kid, if you were to ask me what my favorite car was, it would have been easy for me to answer... my Dad's 1967 Pontiac GTO.  However if you went into my bedroom you would have been greeted with my #2 pick, a Lamborghini Countach.  So imagine my joy when today I got to experience both.  I was driving it home from my Grandma C's house when I saw the Lambo pull out of a parking lot.  There was a truck in front of me and I thought to myself how cool it would be if I could pull up to the line next to this super-car.  Well, the planets aligned and the truck pulled out at the last second and there I was... at a red light on the line next to a Lamborghini Countach.  The coolest thing about the GTO (besides its color) is that it does not matter what the other guy is driving, it could be a Porsche, Ferrari, or whatever... when I drive past them, they are looking to see what I am driving.  Well that is what this guy was doing when the light turned green :)
So I beat him off the line...
And just like the Beach Boys advised... to keep the traction I rode the clutch...
The only thing better than seeing a Lambo next to you is seeing one in the rear view mirror of a 1967 GTO.
And even better... having your wife film the whole thing!

So there you have it.... one more thing off my bucket list, and Logan was riding shotgun for the entire thing.

Sundance with the Asay crew... The arrival

Every year when we come to America to visit, the Asay's gather for as long as they can for card games, adventure and fun.  This year we rented a cabin in Sundance for a week.  After a couple about an hour of "are we there yet" we finally made our way up Provo canyon and onto the Alpine scenic loop.  We turned onto Mile 23 Lane and weaved down a little dirt road by some cabins.
We saw a couple of wild turkeys.
And then there it was, our destination.  And Grandma, Grandpa, Bri and Maddux were waiting for us.
Maddux has grown so much since we saw him last.  Logan was happy to have another boy around to play with.
Sadie was happy to see Grandma.
And Addy gave Grandpa one of her famous "back up" hugs.
The cabin provided hours of play on the giant rope swing and the zip-line.
The cousins played for hours, and when they went to sleep, the aunts and uncles had a go.
After all of the cousins arrived, Grandpa gave them some survival gear: compass, flashlight, and pocket knife.  Then each of the uncles gave safety tips.
 Maddux loves his light.
Logan was really excited about his compass.
The younger kids got cool key-chains in place of knives.
Grandpa showing the ways of closing the knife.
Emily got some on-the-spot guidance from Jason.  For the next week, we had activity-filled days and fun-filled nights.  More to follow.

Richfield with the Blads

After a week of fun with the entire Asay crew at Sundance, we traveled south to Richfield to spend a week with Ryan, Bri, Maddux, Grandma and Grandpa Asay and of course Bo.  Today we woke up early and ate a McDonald's breakfast in the driveway.
Sadie was a little nervous with Bo at first but she is warming up to him.  He is a puppy in a big dog's body so he is a little clumsy and a little intimidating but sweet to the core.
Now if only we could get Amber to warm up to him :)
Maddux showed us his stuff on the tricycle... mad skills.
Sadie and Maddox sharing a camping chair.
After breakfast, the sprinkler came out and the kids geared up for some wet and wild fun.
Maddux figured out how to take control of the spaghetti hose.
Logan decided to sprint to stay dry.... myth busted.
Maddux took a break to ride around some more.
Sadie looking beautiful in the morning sun.

Maddux takes special care to aim his water tube.
Bo resting.  He is like Benji but huge.  I want one.
Lets get another look at Maddux's aiming skills... Aim small miss small.
After drying off, the blonde cousins hugged.
We bought this bone for Bo but Maddux thought it was for him.  Entertainment ensued.

Fun with the Cottrells at Scheels

After a fun morning working on the sunroom, we went to Scheels.  Last year we were in Utah and the construction was almost finished.  We love walking through Cabela's so we were super excited to see what was inside Scheels.
Right as you enter into the building, there is a double archway made out of a huge acrylic fish tank.  This reminded us a lot of the COEX aquarium in Korea.
Logan pointed out a lot of the fish that we saw in Hawaii.
Berkeley came along for the fun.
Sadie bug and Kristen taking a stroll around the archway.
In the center of Scheels there is a giant Ferris wheel.  We just had to try it out, so we all went and bought wooden tokens.
Even Grandpa got in on the fun.
It is so fun to be together with the family.
Here are the cousins anxiously waiting their turn to ride.
Finally it was time to go around.
Grandma and Grandpa.
Stealing a kiss.

There is exciting wild life around every corner.  Grandpa was nearly taken down by this giant grizzly bear.
Duck Dynasty had its own section.  You can even buy Uncle Si's cup.
Logan, Uncle David and Grandpa went on a wildebeest hunting safari.
Logan found a helmet that he really liked.
Overall we had a "HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY" time.
