Snow again

The weather outside is Frightful
Logan upon hearing we don't have to go to church...

"The Lord is in The Storm" I was fiddling around with the camera today and I thought this one kind of turned out cool. We got all ready for church and then got the call that due to snow we should all just stay home. We are excited to just be lazy around the house and Amber and I are relieved that we get one more week before sending Logan to nursery. Mabey it will keep up so tomorrow I can stay home as well.

18 Months and counting...

We make Logan eat the orange ones because we don't like them as much as the grape and cherry ones... They are good but man are they cold
Brain Freeze!

Nummy Nummy!

Mom, I need a bigger spoon please!

Logan is so funny, he has a few OCD tendencies including meticulously picking the lint out from between his toes. If he has food on his face he wipes it with his hand then he goes nuts because he doesn't like the feel of it on his hands...

Missed some...

The other day we walked into Costco and Logan started growling (the sound of choice when describing the natural calls of bears, tigers, lions and apparently sharks). We turned to see what was causing him to bare his teeth, and we saw the coolest kites. We picked one up and when it starts to warm up a tad, we'll take it for a spin.

Logan is officially 18 months old and we just can't believe how fast time has gone by. We were at church last Sunday and could not believe that he was nursery age. We are a little freaked out because he still seems like a baby to us, but he really has grown up alot, he is amazing to us. We can't imagine life without him and sometimes we have a hard time remembering what it was like before he joined our family. Although we no longer have the luxury of laying in bed till we want to get up, or going out for dinner and a movie whenever we like, we feel like our lives are better than they have ever been because we have him. It is hard for me to leave him in the morning and there is something about his cry that just makes me want to fix the world for him. Looking back, there is nothing I could have done to prepare for the changes he brought with him. We are learning everyday and doing all we can to teach him what we know. We are excited to see him grow and someday be a big brother.

New words

Logan has been soaking up everything we say around here and he is really starting to mimic very well. If you yawn, he yawns, if you cough, he coughs, if you laugh he laughs and so on. He has recently learned how to say, shoes, Bananna, Jesus, airplane, Amen, bees, baby, Happy, PaPa, Breezy, and Daddy. We think that Papa is for Grandpa. He also knows that a pirate says, "ARHHH" and that the crocodile hunter says, "Crikey". Whenever he sees a picture of himself he says "baby". He now knows all of the animal sounds and likes to walk around the house growling. He thinks he is pretty tough. Today, Daddy was trying to take a nap on the floor where logan was playing and he thought it would be cool to wake him up so he picked up one of his dye cast metal cars and chucked it at Daddy's head. Maybe he is a tough guy after all. When Logan does things we tell him not to, we make him sit on a chair for a minute and if he gets off the chair, he has to go to his bed for another minute. He has figured out how all of this works and has found a way to take the system to the edge of its boundries. When he is on his chair he will sit for most of the minute, then when there is about 20 seconds left, he starts to crawl off the chair and lets his feet dangle centimeters from the carpet, all the time waiting for the bell to ring the end of his minute. It is pretty cute, I will try to get a picture of it. Yesterday we were going to visit some friends and he went to the door with my shoe on. He is sure a cute kid.

Sugar Baby

A chocolate stained onsie is all that remains of our pretty little monkey. He will be remembered in our hearts and our stomachs.
Sinister laughs filled the room as he dismantled the poor chocolate primate and ground it to oblivion with his brand new set of chompers.

At first he was unsure that he wanted to eat one of his own (a monkey). He attempted to communicate in common monkey tongue and after recieving no answer, the gruesome scene began to unfold...

Yesterday we got Grandma Dana's Valentines package in the mail which was full of sugary goodness. This morning we tried to put Logan down for a nap and after that didn't work we thought it would be fun to give him an overdose of chocolate... One chocolate monkey later, he is drooling chocolate colored spit all over the place. What a mess!

Getting Back To Normal

Well, things are getting back to normal, Logan still has the leftovers of a cold but for the most part he is doing better. Today he helped Amber in the kitchen to make cookies for Valentines Day. Sugar Cookie dough sure tastes better than playdough... We are planning on just sitting around enjoying the warmth and comfort of the apartment and maybe watch some movies and drink some Hot Cocoa.

Logan surprised me with this beautiful picture that he spent yesterday making. What a good kid.

SNOWDAY

This past week at work everyone has been getting hyped up for a big storm, they have seriously been planning on it. It was supposed to be Tuesday but it ended up not being so bad. However the storm did come through for us today and dumped a whopping 2 inches and the whole place shut down.

A Tuff Week

It is so hard to be happy when you aren't feeling good. Logan is such a trooper, he had a terrible early January in Albuquerque due to Bronchitis and now he has caught another bug and has just not been his happy self. Amber took him to the doctor's office last thursday and got some medication for Pink Eye and also for a cold. Logan has play group every monday at the local library which unfortunately is prime bacteria country. We think he picked it up there. Now we have his pink eye under control and thankfully neither Amber or I got it. (Phew!!!) And now he is fighting off the last of the cold. It has been really cold the last week or so and we are expecting more snow on Tuesday. Anyways, he has been really good for the most part. He still makes us laugh with his crazy kid attitude, but then he makes you want to cry when you see him sneeze and fall on his diaper. Poor kid. One thing is for sure, if he wasn't getting the royal treatment before the illness, he sure is now. Amber and I can hardly wait for him to be back to normal.

Flirting with dissaster

Last week Amber was in the middle of making cookies when she smelled logans diaper. She quickly cleaned him up but the diapers were in the other room so she just did up his onesy to give her time to put the cookies in. She went to get an new diaper and returned just in time to see him mark his territory. Later that same day after giving him a bath, the exact same thing happend again. Logan was never the type of kid that took "cheap shots" while you change him but there is something about being free from his clothes that spurs a messy reaction. This morning Amber changed him and was able to get a diaper on him before he completed the hatrick. Here are some pics of him just being cute.

Big Shirt to fill

Sunday before we went to church, we put Logan in one of my white shirts and took some pics. He has definately got some growing to do if he plans on that shirt fitting him someday...

Walking in a blustery Winter frozen tundra of coldness

I was listening to Rush the other day and he was commenting on the fact that Meteorologists could not tell the weather more than a couple of days ahead of time and still had a pretty good chance of being wrong. He said that he thought that it was kind of a stretch for scientists to think that they could predict 1000 years of climate damage due to the wasteful excretions of greenhouse gas courtesy of us humans. On that note, the weather prediction for Thursday night leading into Friday was a couple inches of snow. The schools all freaked out and announced that they would be opening 2 hours later as well as closing 2 hours early. All this happened before it even started to get cold... anyways it rained friday morning and snowed throughout friday night and we decided to go for a walk in the park in the cold. It was fun. Logan is alot more cuddely when he is cold.
