4th of July... a few months late

For the first time in a long time, we were in Utah for the 4th of July.  We have always taken this holiday seriously and this year was no different.  We started the day at Mom and Dad's house, woke up, and raised the colors.
Amber did a great job getting all of the kids dressed up in patriotic colors.
We put in the flagpole at the same time I was working on my Eagle Scout project back in 1994.  My project was to put up a pole at a park near our church and my dad thought that since we were putting in the work for one, he would buy what we needed to put another in front of the house.

 Me and my girls.
After saying the pledge and singing the national anthem, we set off some Chinese fireworks bought on an Indian reservation (because that's how we roll...)
Next we journeyed to Great Grandma C's house.  When we were kids we spent most of the 4th of July at her house.  A neighbor down the street used to throw a community celebration with contests, live music, games, a parade etc.  The neighbor has since sold the house and the party is now held at the church.  We had a blast visiting with Grandma and even Chris and Chelsea, and Uncle Denny came to visit.
Addy fell in love with Chris and her new buddy Easton.
Next we raised Grandpa's flag.  It is old, faded and getting thin in places but it is full of happy memories and family love.

Aiden was the oldest of the great grandkids present so he lit the firecrackers first.
Grandma requested a few songs from the grandkids.
Sadie looking mighty patriotic with Aunt Kr.
First time in years we all were together.
Even Armando came to join in the fun.
Had to get a pic of Great Grandma's cold cash :)
Next we went to see the parade and fireworks in Sandy City.  It was a blast.  Uncle Lance and Aunt Carmen came.  There was live music and tons of booths to see.
 Addy rockin the UVU hat.
Sadie loves laying on real grass.
 Logan and Grandpa.
Cait soaking up the sun...  She loved the funnel cake.
Logan and Addy sure love their Uncles and Aunts.  We miss you all!
Logan showing off his head-stand skills.
 Grandma and Grandpa.
Once it was dark, the fireworks started.

Addy didn't quite make it to the end.
Logan faked falling asleep so he wouldn't have to walk to the car.  We had a great time and hopefully in the years to come we will be able to do this again.
