Our Columbus Day Adventures

On the road again!  Nothing I like better than battling traffic to get out of Seoul... sure beats battling traffic to get into Seoul:)  Luckily, last week everyone in Seoul spent hours traveling on the highways for Ch'uso'k and in my mind that meant that fewer were up for more traffic this weekend...  Overall, not to bad, and we made record time coming home this trip.  We listened to a lot of good music... road trip classics from The Doobie Brothers, The Eagles, and John Mayer's new album, Born and Raised.  If you have the means... I highly recommend picking it up.
This is my Griswold/Cottrell road trip face... to be a true Cottrell road trip face I would need a straw cowboy hat, some gasoline vapors and a 40 ft trailer... some day... some day :)
Korea sure is green.  I can't help but wonder what it must have been like for soldiers during the Korean War to battle over each of these hills, so thick with trees, bush, brush and bugs, against vicious Chinese and North Korean soldiers.  At least there were no tigers to worry about.
Another familiar sight in the country.  Beautifully groomed after Chu'so'k.

Korea during the harvest season is a sight you have to see to understand.  In a way, Koreans are kind of like Hobbits as they are described to have a love for everything that grows.  We saw fields full of rice, orchards full of grapes, apples, and persimmons.  Beautiful.
These are new since last time.  We always make a stop at Jikjisa in Kimch'o'n on our way down south.
There is a large park near the temple that we love to visit for a picnic and to let the kids get their wiggles out.
We could not have asked for better weather.  Cool and breezy, most of the Koreans were already dressed for winter, we must have looked like a bunch of crazy foreigners wearing shorts:)
Logan and Addy have grown up so much since we moved here.  Addy was 1 when we moved here.  Now she has spent over 75% of her live here in Korea.  Logan is going on 50%... and Sadie, well she is our little Korean baby, besides the couple of months we have been back to the states to visit, this is all she knows.
Logan's impression of a pencil... the colors match well.
Logan's impression of ???  Just happy to be out of the car:)
