Taking it to the streets

Last night me and a bunch of friends from the ward slept out in D.C. in hopes of getting tickets to the White House Easter egg roll. There were thousands of people lined up and the line of tents and chairs wrapped around the ellipse behind the White House.
Here is Chad and Kel in front of the Washington Monument. I had originally envisioned sleeping on the sidewalk by some building, it ended up being so much better than I had feared. It was like camping on the lawn back home (in the freezing cold...)
Adrian and Jake setting up their shelter. We stayed up late quoting old movies that we like and at one point we walked to McDonald's cause Jake needed his pie...
just across the road from where we were sleeping you could see where they have set up for the festivities.

We are excited to go and take part in the egg roll, hopefully the weather will cooperate.

Wow, you guys rock. We should for sure come down and do it with you next year. Let's make it a date! Hope it was fun. Happy Easter.

YAY! I'm glad someone got pictures. Jake and pie, huh? . . . hmmm . . . didn't hear about that one. I wonder what happened to the lovely snack bag I made him . . .

Oops, I didn't mean date like real date, just a good ol' time. All though a date would be fun, anyway, hope I didn't come across as creepy:).

Spencer and Amber, you are incredible parents! First, Spencer - sleeping out in the White House's backyard to get tickets for the Easter egg roll, and then both of you getting up early, taking the metro into DC and making great memories with Logan - chasing an egg through the White House lawn! Logan told me that it was lots of fun.

Love,
Mom

Oh I see it wasn't quite as rough as Kel made seem. I'm glad he had some good friend to hang with.

It looks pretty cold out there! It sounds like it was worth braving the cold though.
